OVERVIEW
Villa Verde was designed and built
by a retired British Chartered Engineer for self occupation in 2008-09, with help from local
architects and builders. The
house was built to very high environmental standards.
Geothermal energy provides most heating and cooling needs.
Those needs are relatively small because the house is extremely
well insulated. Very large
solar panels provide hot water for personal use with geothermal back up
if there’s no sun. Water
from a well is used for the spectacular garden.
Vila Verde was cleverly
designed so that it could be used either as a large family house or as a
spacious home with a small tourist rental business. Until now it has
been used for tourist rentals and it has a superb reputation. The
owners lived on the first floor. Four self-contained self-catering
